Athens Grocery is a neighborhood grocery store that sports some interesting international items like good, cheap tuna in olive oil and ajvar spread. This small Grocery store on Halsted south of Jackson in Greektown is great. They have many traditional Greek foods, from frozen spanakopita to huge jars of olives to giant vats of olive oil. This is the place to get your feta cheese and Kalamata olives. Feta is always fresh and inexpensive -- choose from Greek, French or US. And the Kalamata olives are enormous. Plus, they have Greek wines, jams, honey, pasta and more. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but wander in and take a left-turn to the deli counter.
