A press release for the Fairmont Hotel's now sushi-centric spot, Aria Bar, promised "horse mackerel served in a snow globe," but when I tried to order it, our waitress had no idea what I was talking about. Forced to go a less fanciful route, I found the maki and nigiri top-notch: the soft-shell crab tempura roll was spicy, crunchy, and creamy all at once; fatty bluefin tuna tasted buttery and... more

The Scene Amber and violet lighting wash the oval room. Metallic tiles play nicely with shimmering drapery. The bar to the right offers stool seating, but modish lounge configurations throughout are more inviting for cocktails. A central communal sushi bar is glass and glows blue and offers a more serious eating space for loners or couples. Techno is perhaps too aggressive, and maybe... more

The Scene Dark wood and cream-colored accents lend warmth to the modern, serpentine dining room. Convex traffic mirrors and pewter water pitchers in the shape of frogs add whimsy, while the steady techno beat keeps things lively. The Food The globetrotting menu features wildly ranging dishes, from Asian stir fry to prime rib to risotto. Hot Indian flatbreads served... more

Aria n. 1. An elaborate solo vocal piece with instrumental accompaniment; 2. An elaborate new restaurant in the Fairmont Hotel.

Aria replaces Entre Nous, the Fairmont Hotel's stab at fine dining. The space has been retrofitted quite handsomely: And the restaurant itself is casual and approachable in every way. The Fairmont gurus, seeing the "casual dining" writing on... more

We had reservations valentines day and we were seated right away which is a good start, but then it took them maybe 10-15 mins to realize they had guests at the table only to show up with the worst attitude and unfriendliness, did not... more

Nice ambiance in this sort os american/asian fusion restaurant. They bring you warm bread with four different spreads right when you sit down. The food and service are both good.
