No air conditioning, old beds - but nice linens, waaaaaay out of town, maybe four TV channels with poor reception, no wifi which sucked with terrible TV. Staff is very nice. Shower was dusty with broken tile, but great water pressure, sink only had hot water, but towels were nice and fluffy. Ancient TV. Decorated really cute. I wouldn't stay here again - but if you just want to be away from it...

A really neat old style motel,park by your room,sit out under the veranda,with a beer and watch the sun go down.

VERY old - carpet, furniture, fixtures, bathrooms. Not old quaint, old run down. Peeling paint, mismatched fixtures. I would not walk in the room without shoes. I was trying to get a last minute place in/near Julian and I booked without thoroughly reviewing the pictures. Definitely not worth the rate that was charged ($135 +tax)

Nice motel

I stayed at Apple Tree three nights, while visiting Palomar Observatory and the Julian area. The inn was comfortable and pleasant (very comfortable bed!) and the office was friendly. I loved how quiet it was at night.

An OK stay - need remodeling

It's ok to stay for ONE night only.
The place needs serious remodeling. The carpet is old and stained. Furniture is old and ugly. The room doesn't smell fresh and clean. You might find spider webs in the window. Tube TV, maybe 5 channels available.
