There is no doubt that all Indians love food, the menu says at Anokha, and there's also no doubt that all Miamians love this Indian food. Standouts are mahimahi steamed with green chilies and cilantro and wrapped in a banana leaf, chicken with an almond-cream curry, and chicken marinaded in a puree of spinach, cilantro, and yogurt. The wait between courses can seem as long as a cab ride in Manhattan during rush hour, but don't fret -- there's only one cook in the kitchen, and she's worth the wait. AE, MC, V. Closed Mon.

In Short The place is perfect for a date or an afternoon lunch with the ladies. Their extensive but not unmanageable menu includes dishes from the many diverse regions of the continent, focusing somewhat on the southern towns in and around Goa. Recommendable starters include vegetable or lamb samosas and a classic mulligatawny soup, a thin lentil broth seasoned with ginger, garlic and... more

this restaurant has some of the best Indian food I've ever had. We started out with the Gujarati kachori's and the onion bhajias. Let me add that they were made by an actual Gujarati so they WERE the actual thing! Then we went on to have the paneer mukhni, tikka masala, rogan josh, & the chicken vindaloo. They were not only spicy, but they were also flavorful and the right size. It seems as if... more

Best Indian food in Miami!

By far, the friendliest staff of any Indian restaurant in Miami - you will feel like family here. And the food is delicious, with many subtle but ingenious updates to traditional Indian fare - the addition of arugula to palak paneer, for instance, is truly inspired. A very respectable wine list, designer martinis and desserts such as their famous chocolate samosas are out of this world. Hip,... more

First of all, they completely changed their menu and style when they moved in mid 2008. All reviews prior to that should be discarded. Instead of the old, traditional menu they've tried create a fusion indian style something.... it's not working. My boyfriend and I have tried them 3 times (hey, we're desperate for indian) and we were sorely dissappointed each time. We have fond memories of the... more
