Editorial reviews from the web (6) view all

Pork-free barbecue is on offer at this kosher joint in Lakeview that plates house-smoked chow for lunch and dinner (it closes early on Fridays and isn't open on Saturday); decked out in green tiling and distressed wood, the space includes a communal bar, booths and banquettes, and all profits go to charity.

"Insanely good" cinnamon rolls "overflowing with glaze" are one of the "highlights" at these breakfast and brunch "classics", where "consistently good" Swedish-American "comfort food" comes in "large" portions; the "traditional" "old-school diner"-like environs can get "crowded" on weekends, but service stays generally "friendly", and affordable prices help seal the deal.

I've been to this location twice for lunch and was not impressed. While I see a lot of rave reviews for breakfast, I would not go back here for a business lunch. Environment - Basic. Not very comfortable. Service - AverageLunch Items - Below Average. The salads were nothing special, and featured processed meats and iceberg lettuce. It's OK. There are better options.

You already know about the cinnamon roll (everything you've heard is true!),, but have you had it during the once-monthly disco brunch? And have you followed it with the tasty tuna melt? Nope? Well, it's time you head back.

The cinnamon buns are a must-order, but be warned - they're enormous.
