Do not take your birds there! Not even a canary! Killed mine! Did not triage her correctly and left town without a word. No one to cover as she worsened. She died unnecessarily. She was only 8 y.o. Service was simply atrocious. We saw Dr. Spindel for a snake with a respiratory infection. The receptionist with whom I made the appointment was snobby and rude. When we got there, the woman at the front desk seemed nice enough, but we waited over 40 minutes after our appointment time. Waited another 10-20 minutes in the room for the doctor. He was immediately off-putting, staying silent for a long while. He asked us questions to test us! My dog died 2 days after surgery at Animal Ark. I believe this was due to a very rushed (less than 24 hours after surgery, one that had complications too) checkout before they closed for weekend and failure to provide a list of care instructions and warning signs of potential surgery complications. I believe she did indeed die from surgery complications, likely internal bleeding.
My turtle recently had a terrible fall and severely broke his shell. When I showed up I was hysterical and my turtle was gravely injured. Dr. Spindel was able to put my broken turtle back together. He was knowledgable and truly interested in taking the best care of my pet as possible. It was a three month process of medicines and visits, but my turtle is back to his old self. They are expensive, but I don't mind paying for great treatment.
