The 10-story Ambassador is Amarillo's tallest hotel. It's also the city's best, a pleasant touch of class in cowboy country. I stayed at the Ambassador Hotel twice in July, and many times in the past with my work. I think the furnishings in the rooms had a re-vamp recently, but I have not experienced most of the complaints listed in earlier reviews at this hotel. I recently stayed in Amarillo at Ambassador Hotel for a business trip, and had a very positive experience. The other hotels in Amarillo are just upscale “motels”. I needed a real hotel with real hotel facilities and services. The rate was very affordable and the value for the money spent, excellent.
