Hand-Built in 1994, the alibi room is located down the cobblestone post alley in the pick place market selling for the thriving filmaking community. Inside our space offers two floors with ... more

The dance floor on the Alibi Room's lower level is not for the claustrophobic. The upstairs level of this Pike Place Market café and bar — located just off the lower part of Post Alley, across from the Market Theatre's "wall of chewing gum" — is plenty broad and spacious, and has a cinematic vibe that speaks well of its owners (it's run by a consortium of local filmmakers).

In Short Tucked under Pike Place Market, the Alibi Room could easily be dismissed as a place strictly for drinks, but it's also a popular dinner spot. Snug, dimly lit spaces encourage a subtle kind of mating dance. Downstairs, rotating DJs add to the atmosphere with beat-heavy mixing. Order one of the daily specials, such as first-catch halibut, or, for late-night dining, share the sun-dried ... more

For the only ironclad alibi that actually contains the word alibi, go to the Alibi Room. Despite its obscure location beneath the Market, this is a place to see and be seen. Tempting entrées include seared spiced scallops with marsala cream and salmon with black beans and cornbread. The staff is horribly good-looking, the drinks are small masterpieces of mixology, and Long Island iced teas are forbidden ... more

The food was very good, with reasonable prices. Make sure and try the White Bean Hummus. The atmosphere was relaxing. There was a lot of people there, but it was not crowded, good lay-out. The Pike Place Market location is an added bonus.

I miss the old Alibi...

The alibi room used to be much better- the food was terrific, the staff was cool (well, it's still ok, but just ok), and there were fewer Belltown types hanging out. This was also before they built those ugly condos that completely eradicate the view of Elliot Bay that kind of made the Alibi special. Still, I love this bar- it has a great hole-in-the-wall feel, showcases local artists, and has an ... more

Totally cool place. It's a little mysterious. If you were meeting a blind date, this would definitely add to the intrigue, as there is no place else like it. Basically you will never just 'happen upon' this joint - you have to know what you were looking for. In my case, I knew what I was looking for and was thought I was lost until I finally found the door. It kind of has this mysterious kind ... more
