We visited Birmingham for the first time this past weekend to attend a Steve Winwood concert at the Univ of Alabama's Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center. Staff were friendly and helpful. The venue was quite nice & seats about 1300 people. There seemed to be plenty of parking available. We sat in the orchestra level where the view and sound...

This is our own Alabama Symphony Orchestra! They are first rate musicians, have played at Carnegie Hall, and now we have a wonderful new conductor. We have season tickets for the Masterworks series.

As I've never been to the symphony before, this was a real treat. The venue is great, and I imagine that all the seats would be good.

I would highly recommend the Alabama Symphony for New Year's Eve. Every year they choose a composer and they do a wonderful job. The symphony with friends and a midnight toast is just the way to start the New Year!
