A lot of restaurants have great wine lists. But Agio owner Jeff Wright has more than 7,000 tastings under his belt, so you'd do well to buy any bottle he recommends. The subdued atmosphere soothes diners whether in the bar, in the dining room, or on the patio.

Popular as a before- or after-theater night spot, this downtown dining treat is difficult to get into on a weekend night. For a quieter, more romantic evening, try early in the week. Reservations recommended.

In Short From the house bread and herb-flavored oil through the house specialty, cioppino (also known as "poor fisherman's stew"), to the finale: chocolate dessert sausage, this Mass Ave. favorite in the heart of the theater district offers a tantalizing sample of Mediterranean and Italian delights in a warm Italian villa decor. I had the Chicken Marsala and mushrooms (bland) and cheese risotto (undercooked and crunchy). The spinach, however, was amazing. I am neutral on the garlic mashed potatoes. The portions were nice but it was not a meal that I wanted to... more

My husband, our friend and I ate at Agio last night for the first and last time. Our waitress was adorable, but we knew we were in trouble when she told us "this was her 3rd week" working there. After all the mess ups, our friend could have sworn she said "3rd day"! If you are looking for healthy eating, there are only two options (as reflected by the menu itself!). Once you have ordered a... more

The service and atmosphere were wonderful, but the food could have been better. Fairly short menu with impressive specials. Didn't try any wine, but they did have a decent beer selection including a seasonal Bell's offering. Dexter at 02:02 PM on 03/03/08
