Help us make it rightAce Bar in New York City’s East Village is “no pretense, no fuss, just fun.”
Grilltavern
This funky 21+ East Village dive has easily welcomed the gentrification of avenues A and B. Consequently, it now caters to a large crowd of downtown urban professionals, although hipsters and scruffy locals still pay a visit from time to time. It is also a lesbian hangout on some nights. Ace features a mahogany bar, along with comfortable booths and cheap drinks. Check out their collection of...
This place is one of the few cool bars left from the good ol' days in the East Village. Come here with your sweetie or invite your closest large group of friends. It's perfect for both. Plus, they have a mean juke box and two pool tables.
Ace Bar looks suspiciously like a library, except all of the books have been replaced by vintage lunchboxes, and the librarians are actually serving alcohol!
EV three-part bar's main draw is the Skee-Ball—something about beating a high score, getting a free drink. Two drawbacks: (1) it's a buck per game, (2) the crowds this place packs in can be, uh, intrusive (to be kind). A recently renovated front-end can't derail rep of extreme young'uns, but there're good times to be had nonetheless. Cheap-ish beers, decent happy hour, the otherwise bare-bones...
The glass brick exterior is a remnant of '80s bad taste, but happier memories of the era abound inside, where a custom-made bookcase displays over 100 vintage lunchboxes with nostalgic TV heroes...
I scoped out Ace Bar last weekend as a potential spot to hit on my upcoming birthday bar crawl. Pretty basic dive bar, nothing really special other than the slightly interesting decor and skeeball. It's also very spacious compared to the other bars in the area.It was Saturday night so it was undoubtedly …
I love ACE because a pint of PBR and jack-coke together cost $11, and because I schooled my date in pinball, so I now have something to hold over his head for years to come.Thank you, Ace.
$3 pints of Yuengling, skeeball, and pinball, I'm set. There is guaranteed to be something you like on tap. The Star Trek pinball machine gives you a lot of plays, after playing for a half hour I left it without finishing.I came on a Sunday, during a snowstorm and I was surprised that there was a decent sized crowd. If …
What a fun dive-ish bar!! Our group of friends had such a good time playing cards games we brought to the bar, skeeballs for a buck, buck hunter, pin balls, darts and two pool tables. Plenty of tables to sit around and hang out. Decently priced drinks, bags of chips for those who may be hungry and just all around a …
I used to come here a lot with friends and recommend this spot. Ace Bar is an above average dive bar. It is pretty spacious inside compared to most dive bars. There is a large back area with a good variety of games - two pool tables, skeeball, darts, and old arcade machines like Buck Hunter. The crowd here whenever I've been has been very laid back.
Ace Bar the can be found at E 5th St 531. The following is offered: Night Clubs. The entry is present with us since Sep 7, 2010 and was last updated on Nov 12, 2013. In New York there are 121 other Night Clubs. An overview can be found here.
All that’s missing is a ball pit at this “kick-ass” East Village bar-cum-“arcade” where “hipsters” and fratsters stave off adulthood for a few hours as they cradle a “cold PBR” in one hand and roll Skee-Ball with the other; those billiards, darts, pinball and video games sure are “fun”, but this “quirky dive” ices the cake with a wall of “vintage lunchboxes.”
