I'm shocked by some of the negative reviews here. My partner and I live close by (Oakland/SF), and were looking for a place to stay when we visited Pt. Reyes one weekend. We wanted someplace independent and cheapish, and the Abalone Inn fit the bill. It was so beautiful, though--it surpassed our expectations. Lovely. We're definitely planning on going back....
