Business Description from the Web

4100 is one of a number of bars in the Silver Lake and Echo Park area that has undergone a serious metamorphosis over the past few years. Situated on a corner of Sunset Boulevard across from a nondescript Jiffy Lube, this spot is hard to miss. Its bright purple exterior is emblazoned with a large multicolored "4100." Show your ID to the bouncer, pass the ATM machine, push the black velvet... more

Hot new Eastside hangout bang on Sunset strip but as far removed from its concrete chaos as Laos is from Los Angeles. In fact the cool, Oriental theme reminds one instantly of an exotic eastern land, with its flying dragon motifs on the tables and the massive Buddha lit by candles under a stained glass wall at the back. Popular with the local gays and straights, it's got a great oblong bar in... more

Alluding to the Far East, this bar centers its decor on an enormous, candlelit Buddha, which adds a swirling dragon motif to table linens. An array of drinks are served and a jukebox loaded with just about every genre is available.

Swirling dragons and a massive Buddha--the Far East comes to this Eastside bar.

In Short While 4100 isn't as sleek as their Hollywood lounge, it's just as hot. A red oblong bar sits in the middle of this spacious room, while hanging tapestries keep things cozy. Tables covered in intricate dragon patterns and black booths line one wall, while a bigger-than-life Buddha watches over the gay, straight and bi crowd. Corner couches provide the perfect spot for... more

A@s-kicking-est jukebox in town—rock from the blues, classic, and hard vintages. As impenetrable with emotionless emo trendoids as the smoke cloud outside the front entrance on weekends. Giant Buddha clocks foxy trendies on the prowl with one thing on their minds... the f@!%!*g parking meter. Make it a pint-glassed double, snooze or strike come-hithers on the giant ottomans, then walk home.... more

I love the 4100. It's a stand alone bar/club that does it's own thing just like Silver Lake does. Hipsters are here, yes, but posers no. Cool vibe.

Pros

+ Good beer, great Silver Lake vibe, cool decor

Cons

- Drinks aren't cheap but what is?

Better when it's not so full
