Like a big, open Italian kitchen with a terra-cotta floor and wonderful smells coming from the brick oven. There are simple antipasti and pizza choices, a rich tomato and bread soup with fresh basil, spinach lasagna, and a bright spaghetti al pesto. Meat dishes are especially good, such as a mixed grill of chicken, quail and sausage, or a grilled steak rubbed with rosemary infused oil. The... more

And if you peer through the glass windows, you will see a large open dining room that looks a little depressing. However, if you are more concerned with food than décor, you will certainly not mind eating here. The kitchen prepares such interesting dishes as Wild Boar and Venison, with fragrant sauces... more

One of my favorites. Service is personal, food is excellent, atmosphere nice. Very unpretentious. As people have shared already - artichoke app, white bean app, lasagna, trout - all incredible. It tops my list of Manhattan recommendations because it feels like such a find.

Unbelievable find...

There were 6 of us, I ordered grilled brook trout, and my friends had pizza, pasta and grilled baby chicken. Everything was fresh, light, but amazingly tasty. Great ambience, very friendly service, and inexpensively priced. My... more

Col Legno is a great place to go and has always served top notch quality food. The pizza's are great, the artichoke appetizer is delicious, and the entrees and pastas are always fresh. The gelato and sorbets are even great. The owner seems to always be there and he's a big help. The wine is well priced as well.
