21st Amendment Brewery Cafe

Best Beer in San Francisco

Review Rating
Order a South Park Blonde and you'll be happy. This place is better than Gordon Biersch and San Francisco Brewing Company. The food (burgers, fish/chips) is excellent as well. As somebody who drinks a hell of a lot in the Market Street and South of Market areas, this place is worth making a trip to.

The Scene A large semicircular bar dominates the front space of this restaurant. Behind it, a seating area featuring wooden booths, high ceilings and an open kitchen creates a warm, somewhat loud dining room. The crowd is a mix of sports fans glued to the television monitors above the bar and SOMA professionals gathering for an after-work bite or drink. Service is kind and orders are... more

I went to 21st A on a regular tuesday night out for beers after work and really liked it. I sat at the bar, tried one of their creative brews (watermelon wheat - refreshing) and ended up trying one of their "beer cocktails" too. Fun!
Don't go on a game day by accident like I did the other night. My own fault. (Sh*t show for sure. Super drunk people - tons of them.)

Since it's a brew pub, we'll start there. They always have a line up of 6-8 house brews plus a guest pour or two. Some of the best include the Watermelon Wheat (hey don't call it a girlie beer, there's 400 lbs of melon in each batch. Yummy), Opening Day IPA (hoppy but not too hoppy), General Pippo's Porter (essence of coffee and... more

First of all the only bad thing here is the parking and I had no change for the meter BUT I did have cash. Living in Portland now, I walk in feeling a little weird about having to ask the bartender for meter change, I get a big smile and she says of course how much do you want. WOW!, not used to that.
This is the most friendly and accommodating brew pub I've ever been to. I think they knew I... more
