I had a gift certificate to The 18th Century Merchant otherwise the unassuming store wouldn't have had a chance. When I got in there however they were awesome. Excellent customer service. The girl was on the floor digging through sale items helping me find bowls for an upcoming soup party. We were going all around the store finding things to match and she gave me some great party ideas too! ... more

18th Century Merchant is a little treasure on the Chesapeake/Portsmouth line. Here you will find excellent customer service, fine linens, china, silver, etc. They have a beautiful kitchen department. Suggest to brides to register for their china and silver here. Or if you're looking for a special wedding or baby gift, stop here.
