The Harold Washington Library Center is the central library for the Chicago Public Library System. It is located just south of the Loop 'L', at 400 S. State Street in Chicago, in the U.S. state of Illinois. It is a full-service library and ADA compliant. As with all libraries in the Chicago Public Library system, it has free wifi internet service. 3 days of vaction spent in Chicago: April 14 - 16, 2014. Spent approximately 2 hrs touring Harold Washington Library. We loved the seventh floor, Literature and Foreign Languages! We were impressed with the Museum on same floor.

Spent approximately 2 hrs at this Library and found everything I needed on Venture Capitalism all on the 4th floor!! Love this library is open on Sundays!!?!?!

The ninth floor is the best floor. Plan to spend a lot of time in this gem. This is a library, art musuem, history museum and cultural center all rolled in to one. This is a must see. We spent about...

This beautiful main branch of Chicago's Public Library system opened in 1991. Built in Neoclassical style with high columns and vaulted ceilings, the building soars 10 stories and is capped by a majestic Winter Garden. The collection includes nearly 2,000,000 books and almost 14,000 periodicals. Guided tours are available. EL: Brown, Purple, and Orange Lines to Library Station
