This restaurant is over 65 years old, and looks like it. It does has atmosphere nice patio dining in a convenient midtown location. The salsa was watery and tasteless with a very slight tang. The food was good, but expensive for what it was. When walking out, we always ask ourselves, "will be ever come back here again?" BEST Mexican food restaurant!! I have gone to another popular place for YEARS but a friend told me of Jacalas and it's the only place we go. Great salsa, delicious puffy tacos and corn tortillas....

Good Mexican food and a good chicken fried steak.The online menu prices have not been changed and the restaurant menu prices are about $2.00 higher.$10.00 a plate is average.Service is just adequate and even slow at times.Portions seem to be average to small.Refills on the famous salsa are steady when the meal is delayed.Trendy now and loud!
