Were the perfect place for a unique and memorable event.

Our Victorian home was originally constructed in 1916 as a doctor's office and has since undergone a multitude of changes from an exquisite private residence to a multi-family apartment community in the 1970's and 1980's. Finally in 1990 a full renovation was completed and our beautiful Victoria made it's debut as Inn on the Riverwalk Bed & Breakfast and welcomed its first guests.

Terrible Customer Experience, Still waiting for $1300

Been waiting 82 days and no indication they will ever refund my deposit of over $1300 - the runaround has been awful. Really a terrible experience.

Made reservation in August 2009, paid $1340.81, which is half of total room cost. The reservation was made far in advance, with a check-in date of June 29, 2010.

On December 11, 2009 I used the Inn's email form on their website to request that the reservation be canceled.

About two weeks later I called and spoke with a person who told me they didn't know anything about my request to cancel the reservation, but would make a note of it.

On January 27, 2010, I called again, and spoke with another person, who said the first person I spoke with must have been their answering service, who never gave them any message. In addition, they never received any emails from me, of which I sent three.

The initial reservation was made using the Inn's website, and that worked fine, to make the reservation and pay the $1340.81. But their email form for contacting them apparently doesn't work at all. This is despite the fact that every time you use it to send them an email message you will receive an email confirmation that your message was received.

During the phone call on January 27, 2010, I asked to speak with the owner, but was told that they are not available. During this phone call I was told that they had no record of any request to cancel, despite three emails and a phone call, and that it would take six to eight weeks to "process" my request to have my deposit refunded. The woman I spoke with didn't apologize for their email system not working, for their answering service failing to give anyone my message, or even to tell me that they were just an answering service, or for the unreasonably long time to process refunds. She just told me "that's the way we do things," and there was nothing she could do to help me.

On February 12, 2010, I called my credit card company to open a chargeback case. By now, two months had gone by since my first request to the Inn to cancel the reservation. Of course, my first efforts to cancel the reservation, over a span of 47 days, had been completely ignored or never received by the Inn, despite my efforts to contact them using their provided methods, email and phone.

On February 15, 2010, The credit card company contacted me and said the Inn had told them that I canceled the reservation on January 12 according to their records. The credit card company requested that I wait until around March 9, 2010 to follow up with them, so that a full eight weeks would have gone by based on the date the Inn gave them. The date of January 12 is, according to my records, a random date; it doesn't seem to be connected to any action I took, and is, oddly, earlier that the phone call I made on January 27 when the Inn manager told me she had no record of my cancelation.

Today is March 3, 2010. I have not received any refund.
It's 82 days since my initial request for the cancelation and refund. I have never received any apology from the Inn for their lack of ability to communicate with me and receive my communications. I am afraid I am never going to get any money back based on their uncaring and incompetent attitude. (Edited March 03, 2010)

Great personal service from the owner. This is what you're looking for in a B&B, staff who know your name and personalized service if an issue arises! We love the location, on the Riverwalk but not the busiest part. Short walk to cathedral and Alamo.

Quaint and convenient to everything.

Staff was friendly. Room clean and comfortable. Waking distance to all the Riverwalk attractions. Owner, Roland, was very nice and gave great suggestions on local sights. Breakfast was delicious and even made special order eggs for my picky children! Free breakfast, parking and wifi which is hard to find at other hotels in the area. Will definitely be back!
